We sell 3D-printed parts through our store at Shapeways.com. We are, however, not the same entity as Shapeways. Issues with design and engineering should be taken up with us while shipping, printing and failed prints need to go through Shapeways.
Yes! There are a number of parts availible for purchase at MyMiniFactory. Please note that some parts require certain printing techniques, ie Polyjet parts can likely work on an SLA printer but probably not an FDM. You can also home print large, high cost items while the smaller, high detail parts can come from Shapeways. Please email us at amproengineering@gmail.com if parts wanted are not on MyMiniFactory. Some high IP parts will also not be on MMF.
We do offer custom designs but time is usually a problem so this creates high costs.
Though there are types of printers out there that can print in very durable materials, the nylon used at Shapeways is about as strong as molded nylon. Nylon does not have the flexibility that ABS would have (the front suspension on a Hornet is abs) so we recommend a hot stock motor at the most (the CW01 chassis should keep its silver can).
When it comes to using an RC car, we will inevitably break parts. We do sell parts individually so you will not need to buy a whole set.
Due to limited time, we do not have the ability to add the hardware needed, package, and ship these sets. All complex designs have a build video, a complete bill of materials, and links to the printed parts in the description. This BOM will facilitate getting the parts you need for the project and allow you to make it your own.
Every single assembly and most parts we have engineered have in-depth installation videos on our Youtube channel. https://www.youtube.com/AMPROEngineering
The black color is not an option since it is the only color not polished. It leaves a very grainy feel and compromises the look. It also costs more than the white polished. All colors offered are actually white polished and then dyed to get the colors shown. Our suggestion is to get the white polished or grey MJF and then paint them. The paint soaks in and seals the parts so dirt and mud won't stick. For all colors, we recommend a matte clear for SLS and MJF materials in general to seal them. If you would like black parts, we use Dupli-Color/Krylon Low Gloss Black Engine Paint, DE1634. Use about 3-4 light coats and then they look great and more closely match black plastic parts.
